SEED SELECTION PLANTS

These systems are used to select only the best beans of a certain variety to be used for sowing.

The silos welcome the grains “in nature”, i.e. directly as they arrive from the harvest and must be as smooth as possible inside, to avoid stagnation of residues on the walls and contamination between the different seeds.

Generally they are smaller silos than those used for grain storage.

Inside the plants there are also containers for the processed product which act as buffer bins both for tanning or packaging: batteries of silos with smooth flat walls or smooth round bolted silos are generally used.

The grains rejected by the selection are also collected to be destined for grinding.
