Vertical static mixer silo
Technobins filed an application at the end of 2019 for the patent for a static vertical mixer silo, which for simplicity we will call SILOMIX from now on.
This product therefore combines two primary needs: that of pure storage, characterized by the need for volume, and that of mixing, characterized by the need to standardize the spatial distribution of different components.
Currently, in the field of industrial mixing of bulk solid materials, use is usually made of motorized horizontal / vertical mixers, in which the products introduced are moved by means of spirals or rotating blades. Most of the time they don’t offer significant volumes.
There is also a still elitist slice of the market (widespread mainly in the plastics sector) occupied by static mixing silos of limited efficiency, which however lack industrialization and therefore still have numerous disadvantages in terms of portability, hours of work necessary for their erection and inevitably a high final cost.
SILOMIX combines the following features:
It owes its operation to gravity alone and is not equipped with any moving mechanical organ, with advantages linked to the reduction of maintenance costs and energy savings;
It is able to take the product contained at different heights and at different points of the circumferential development and to lead it to a lower area used for mixing. It can ensure the maintenance of the pre-existing degree of mixing (if the introduced product has been previously mixed) or mix separately loaded products (taking care to recirculate a small percentage of the one introduced at the start);
It is available in multiple capacity sizes;
From the outside it looks like a silo with smooth bolted panels and their basic philosophy remains unchanged: all materials are sent loose on site to optimize transport and assembly operations only require bolting;
The internal surface is perfectly smooth and free of sharp edges, making the product extremely hygienic, therefore also aimed at the agri-food market;
It is suitable for the storage and mixing of both granular and powdery materials. For the latter, vibration / fluidization systems at the discharge can be provided;
It is available in different materials, thus maintaining flexibility for all sectors of application: powder coated steel in the oven, galvanized steel, stainless steel, aluminum;
The typical use is in the mixing of polymers, cereals or legumes (for the preparation of soups) and flour for the production of preparations for bakery products. However, these are just a few examples of the countless intended uses.
